Kilimanjaro climb on the Marangu Route, also called the Coca-Cola route, with Altezza Travel, a licensed operator based in the Machame area near Moshi. It is the oldest path up the mountain and the only route with hut accommodation, and it uses the same trail up and down. It starts and ends at Marangu Gate. Offered as a 5 or 6 day trek (7 or 8 days including arrival and departure). The 6 day version is recommended for beginners. The huts keep climbers dry, so the route is recommended in the rainy seasons. Participants must be aged 12 to 70.
